IN THIS ISSUE:
What’s ahead:
December 5: Open to buy online pre-conference session
Led by Katrina Ross of Dalhousie University and Jennie Giebel of the University of Victoria, this session is going to get you prepared for the conference. Using inventory, sales information, and a whole lot more, Jennie and Katrina are going to teach you how to use the conference to make buying for your store better. This session is open to all CSC members even if you are not planning to attend the conference.
DECEMBER 7: TRENDS, DATA, AND WHAT STUDENTS SAY
In this session, Research Analyst Lacey Wallace (NACS) shares the latest insights from students in the U.S. and Canada. What do students want to wear? What tech products are they buying? Find out trends on apparel, tech, and more.
DECEMBER 14: sponsor showcase
Join us on December 14th to support the vendors who have invested in, and donated to, the campus stores industry. Hear from Login Canada, Penguin Random House Canada, VitalSource and Willland Outdoors as they provide updates and information on their products and services. This session is open to all CSC members, even if you are not planning to attend the conference.
January 18: Getting the most from the show
The Campus Stores Canada team will be giving you all the insights into how to use the show to your full advantage. If you have questions, we have the answers! Join us for a quick session as we get prepared for the conference.
CAMPUS STORES CONFERENCE 2024
This year’s Campus Stores Conference is for everyone! Join us on January 29 - February 1, 2024 at the Le Centre Sheraton in Montreal, Quebec for education, trade show, and networking. Registration for CSC Members is $299 and includes education sessions, guided tours of campus stores, and plenty of time for working with your peers across Canada.
UPCOMING DEADLINE: Hotel Block Closes January 5
The conference, trade show and our room block are all at the Le Centre Sheraton. If you want to skip the cold, save money, and make the very most of the conference, make sure to book your rooms right away as the block is selling fast!
Store Tours
We wouldn’t bring you all the way to Montreal without showing you the town. This year you’ll get to tour two campus stores. The tours are on January 30, from 2:15 to 5:30 pm bus transportation will be provided.
LE JAMES McGill Bookstore
This is your chance to see a big, beautiful campus store in the heart of downtown Montreal! Hear how it operates, see what they stock, and ask all sorts of questions about what works with real world examples.
COOP HEC MONTREAL
See how a COOPSCO store operates. This is an opportunity to visit a much smaller store and see how it makes the best of working as a part of COOPSCO.
MANAGERS AND DIRECTORS SUMMIT
MONDAY, JANUARY 29 from 1:00 - 4:00pm
This meeting is meant as a chance to discuss the whole store operations. It’s an opportunity for you to talk about what is top of mind for your store from a strategic and managerial perspective. We do ask that this session is only attended by manager and director level employees to keep the candor of the discussion meeting.
Thanks so much to all our sponsors!
Trade Show Map
The trade show is filling up and we’re still looking for vendors! If you know someone send them this one-pager!

What is Student Watch?
Funded by the NACS Foundation, the Student Watch™ report investigates student course materials buying behaviors. Conducted once a year, this study contains vital, industry-specific research that offers new insights into the college student consumer on both two-year campuses and four-year campuses.
Why should you participate?
Receive a free copy of the full 2024 report which includes the views from students on YOUR CAMPUS and other campuses just like yours. We know how important it is to have comparisons to other two-year schools, not just four-year institutions. With Student Watch, you get both!
We provide the email template, digital resources and IRB guidance.
We give a $50 gift card to a student respondent on your campus and a $1000 grand prize to incentivize responses!
It’s FREE and easy! Simply send an email invitation to the students on your campus and we'll do the rest!
